APJ Abdul Kalam: A Name to Remember Today & Always

25a733eAvul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, popularly known as APJ Abdul Kalam, passed away on 27th July’ 2015 while delivering his speech in IIM Shillong. Since then, every newspaper or news channel is showcasing the great achievements and contributions made by the Missile Man of India. Indubitably, his contribution is invaluable and being a recipient of India’s highest civilian honour- The Bharat Ratna is the testimony of the same.

He was not only a successful scientist but a great motivator as well. Some of his motivational quotes are:

  • All birds find shelter during a rain. But Eagle avoids rain by flying above the clouds. Problems are common, but attitude makes the difference.
  • If you fail, never give up because FAIL means First Attempt In Learning
  • END is not the end as it imply Effort Never Dies. Similarly, no need to get disheartened by getting answer as NO as it means Next Opportunity
  • Don’t take rest after your first victory because if you fail in second, more lips are waiting to say that your first victory was just luck.
  • My message, especially to young people is to have courage to think differently, courage to invent, to travel the unexplored path, courage to discover the impossible and to conquer the problems and succeed. These are great qualities that they must work towards.
  • Let me define a leader. He must have vision and passion and not be afraid of any problem. Instead, he should know how to defeat it. Most importantly, he must work with integrity.

No one can change the destiny and bring him back, but YES we can keep him alive in our memories and pay gratitude towards him by incorporating his precious teachings in our lives.
